Trustwave, a cyber security firm with offices around the world, is increasing its presence in Waterloo Region with a new security operations centre (SOC).
The Chicago-based company’s Canadian head office has been operating in Cambridge for the past five years, where the new centre “will be operational by the end of August,” Brent Davidson, Trustwave’s Vice President of Canadian Sales, told Communitech News.
The company plans to hire more than 25 people for its growing Canadian operation, including software engineers, security operations centre analysts and managers, among other roles.
“The Kitchener-Waterloo region has well-known roots in technology and innovation so our new SOC fits in perfectly,” Davidson said. “The K-W region also gives us access to a large tech talent pool to support our open headcount and future growth.”
The new Trustwave security operations centre is the company's sixth such facility. The others are in Manila, Warsaw, Chicago, Denver and Minneapolis.
