Red Meat Games Wins Microsoft Developer Network Competition
Wits and Warfare: a strategy, empire building game that includes trivia wins highly competitive award
Kitchener, Ontario: Upcoming Canadian Game Developer company Red Meat Games wins the national contest, Codename GOA for their mobile app indie game Wits and Warfare. The announcement was made at the Montreal International Games Summit on November 17, 2015. As the winner, Red Meat Games has won $10,000 cash, plus numerous game and business supports.
Red Meat Games CEO Keith Makse, “We are extremely honoured to have won this highly competitive award. We are proud to have been chosen among the finalists to represent how games can be made and supported with the use of the Microsoft Azure Servers.”
The winning game was graded by a panel of judges with the following criteria.
• Quality of Gameplay – 20%
• Design and Story Creativity – 20%
• Technical Innovation and use of Microsoft Azure – 30%
• Game Usability – 20%
• Overall Marketability – 10%
Wits and Warfare is a mobile game available on iOS and coming soon for Android and Windows 10 devices. What makes it unique is the use of trivia questions in order to gain resources and alter gameplay, making this game the first of its kind.
