Canada's Open Data Exchange (ODX) launched the OD150 survey in the Spring of 2016 with a goal in mind; Reach a list of 150 Canadian companies using open data by Canada's 150th birthday. Why? To show Canadians the wide array of companies who are already using open data to build a better Canada and to encourage more Canadian companies to do the same.

ODX would like to thank the more than 150 companies who completed the OD150 survey and helped us make history for Canada's 150th birthday. Together we built the first comprehensive, internationally comparable mapping of Canadian companies that use open data to launch new products and services, create commercial and nonprofit ventures, optimize their business processes, do research, make data-driven decisions, and solve complex problems.

ODX has put together a Canada Day infographic to highlight some of the key findings from our 150+ respondents (see below).

If you'd like to dive deeper into the results, view the interactive map by GovLab.

What's next?

What's next for OD150? The goal is to keep this effort alive and to continue to help companies across Canada discover more ways to leverage open data in their businesses. If you're a company using open data who hasn't yet made the OD150 list, please fill out the survey here.
