It's Understood Communication's workplace coach program has received accreditation by ICAgile – the International Consortium for Agile – an independent accrediting agency dedicated to advancing the state of agile learning worldwide.

The 12-week program, designed for agile professionals, helps practising or aspiring agile coaches master the skills of professional coaching. "We want agile coaches to be as confident about the 'coach' part of their job title as they are about the 'agile' part," says Sue Johnston, a master certified coach and communication specialist who developed and leads the program.

The course format is similar to that used in schools that train professional coaches – a blend of online learning (for the theory) and live weekly teleclasses (for actual practice coaching). It is grounded in the proficiencies required of coaches certified by the International Association of Coaching.

ICAgile accreditation follows a rigorous process in which evaluators determine whether course material meets or exceeds learning objectives established by industry experts. It's Understood can now grant the designation ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) to those who successfully complete the course.

The next session begins, online, the week of Sept. 15, 2014. Information is available at http://itsunderstood.com/new-coach-circles/
