Benjamin Lee, founder of Doppel Move, is determined to revolutionize the fitness market with a social platform to track your movement and enhance your workout experience. With $5,000 of start-up capital winnings, Doppel Move is one step closer to unlocking your athletic potential.

As an active member of the athletic community, Lee noted that while most gym-goers want to track their progress, most complain the process is time-consuming and tedious. Current fitness-tracking methods include spreadsheets, apps, and pen and paper. Doppel Move offers automated performance tracking, with the added benefit of sharing results on a social platform, which fits well with the highly social and close-knit nature of group functional fitness.

Doppel Move’s current target is the 180 functional fitness gyms found throughout Ontario. A quintessential entrepreneurial spirit, however, has Doppel Move looking to eventually reach 14,000 functional fitness gyms worldwide. With its $5,000 in start-up capital, Doppel Move plans to travel and demo its product at gyms across Ontario and Canada. The company will also put the funds toward further research and development, and delivering prototypes to five early-adopter gym owners.

Entrepreneurial endeavours need a lot of help along the way. Lee has this to say about the prize, “The Get Started program is a fantastic initiative to help small and startup businesses such as ourselves. In today's paradigm, where startups have become a legitimate way to pursue your dream and as an alternative to working a 9-5 job, it's nice to see industry leaders like Canon lend a helping hand. This program has been a great launch pad for Doppel to help us develop technology and break into the market. Without Canon's help, this process would be a lot more difficult. Thanks, Canon, for your support!”

This is why we do what we do.
