First Impact: Rise of a Hero is the first VR game where players can assume the role of a superhero, complete with a myriad of powers that would make even Superman blush. Red Meat Games is pleased to announce the game will be launching shortly, available to players on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PC starting February 3, 2017.

First Impact is an open-world action-RPG that challenges players to discover the cause behind meteors that are falling towards Earth. It features an elemental gameplay system where heroes can control the four elements: air, earth, water and fire. Additionally, it gives players the kinds of powers that comic book fans have always dreamed of, such as flight, super strength, super speed, and teleportation. Players will then use these powers strategically to defend civilians, investigate phenomena, and maybe even throw a car or two.

What makes First Impact: Rise of a Hero unique is the game’s use of gesture-based controls to replicate iconic superhero poses, creating a true sense of superhuman immersion in VR for the first time. Players will feel like a superhero when extending their arms to fly, or lifting cars over their heads -- and they’ll have hours of content to play through thanks to the game’s story and mission structure. First Impact: Rise of a Hero pushes the boundaries of what’s capable with current VR hardware. It’s exactly the sort of thing that owners have been asking for since the launch of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
