One Hundred Ten
ODX has received 110 respondents so far to the Open Data 150 survey. Our goal is one hundred fifty for Canada's 150th birthday.
Data Discovery
One of the biggest challenges companies face when considering the use of open data is how to discover it. ODX has a Data Concierge resource to support data users.
Portals
There are currently over 100 Provincial and Municipal Open Data Portals in Canada.
Analysis
Platforms like OKFN, OpenRefine, Namara and ESRI prepare data sets for release and analysis.
Enabler
A successful Open Data strategy requires that government departments engage with the process for data release like the Guelph Civic Challenge.
Twenty Two
ODX received 22 applicants for the first cohort of the ODX Ventures program. Due to the demand and quality of applications, ODX is funding 8 projects.
National Mandate
ODX has embarked on a Cross-Canada Tour to speak with Government official and Open Data users. Follow us on our tour.
Accessible Data
The City of Edmonton, which ranked #1 in the Open Cities index has 1,309 open data sets. The Federal Government has ~250,000 datasets in their data portal.
