The Communitech Women Entrepreneur Bootcamp pitch competition closes this year's programming with a bang. Entrepreneurs will showcase their ideas and products to an audience of key players in Waterloo Region’s tech ecosystem and compete for $100,000 in seed funding. The prizing offered is four times the amount in 2014.

In its second year, the bootcamp is a launch program for female founders with a pre-MVP tech or tech-based idea. Participants develop a business model, learn business core concepts and work toward refining their goals and offering through the guidance of experienced entrepreneurs and experts.

The eight finalists:

Bonnie Cheung, Alpaci (Waterloo, ON)

Renishaki Kamal, Fidget (Waterloo, ON)

Vanessa Cherenfant, Elysia (Montreal, QC)

Yasaman Soudagar, Neurescence Inc. (Toronto, ON)

Sarah Murphy, Sentinel Alert (St. John’s, NL)

Alexa Roeper, Penta Medical (Kitchener, ON)

Julie (Hyunjoo) Lee, PinkWallet (Toronto, ON)

Sandra Loop, Money-Wiser (Waterloo, ON)

Last year's pitches included Rachel Paulter (Suncayr), Beth Nenniger (DraftingSPACE, recently acquired by BuildDirect), and Cat Coode (Binary Tattoo).
