100K funding available with “Made in Ontario” advanced manufacturing R&D challenge

Are you a start-up, SME or a large company with manufacturing operations in Ontario?

The Ontario Centres of Excellence's (OCE) Voucher for Industry Association (VIA) R&D Challenge funds industry-academic collaborations aimed at addressing industry challenges and creating significant economic impact for Ontario. Industry can leverage their research and development investments three to one, up to a project size of $400,000.

Details:
• An industry partner is required in order for a professor to apply for funding to this program. The industry partner can be a start-up (incorporated for at least one year), SME or a large company with manufacturing operations in Ontario. Start-ups should consider partnering with more established companies.
• OCE will provide up to $100,000 cash per project. A company must contribute the same amount as OCE: if OCE provides $100,000 cash, then a company must provide $100,000 cash plus $100,000 in-kind.
• NSERC CRD will match the cash contribution from industry (less university overhead) and the in-kind contribution from industry (up to the cash amount)
