Celebrating Team True North’s New Members

KITCHENER, ONT., January 30, 2024 — Communitech continues to identify, celebrate and support Canada’s high-performing companies as they scale into global superstars by announcing the newest members of Team True North.

The companies were unveiled today at a special event in the Communitech Hub in Kitchener, followed by a private dinner and networking session with existing members of Team True North.

“Communitech is proud to support Canadian founders who are striving to build globally competitive tech companies,” said Chris Albinson, CEO and President of Communitech. “Data shows that these companies drive innovation and enhance prosperity for all by creating an environment of talent and know-how that fosters new generations of promising startups.”

To be considered for Team True North, companies must be Canadian controlled, privately-held tech company with annual revenue and year-over-year revenue growth that falls within one of the following ranges:

  • Minimum of $20 million in annual revenue and 60 per cent year-over-year growth.
  • Minimum of $40 million in annual revenue and 40 per cent year-over-year growth.
  • Minimum of $80 million in annual revenue and 20 per cent year-over-year growth.
  • Minimum of $100 million in annual revenue and 15 per cent year-over-year growth.

These companies join an existing roster of fifty-nine companies who are already part of Team True North.

Team True North was launched in June 2022. Modeled on Canada’s Own the Podium Olympic strategy, the initiative uses a variety of data points and other measures to identify privately-held tech companies from across the country that have the potential to reach $1 billion in revenue by 2030.

The intent is to provide team members with enhanced access to talent, sales opportunities and growth capital – as well as peer-to-peer discussions and networking opportunities to help them grow into globally successful businesses.
