Patient experience

Innovative solutions improving access to care and communication with patients.

Challenge: Patient scheduling

Healthcare organizations struggle with inefficient patient scheduling processes that lead to long wait times and missed appointments, resulting in decreased patient satisfaction and delayed access to necessary care.

Challenge: Wait times

Prolonged wait times for appointments and procedures remain a critical issue in Canadian healthcare, negatively impacting patient outcomes and satisfaction while contributing to increased stress and anxiety among patients seeking timely care.

Challenge: Patient education

Healthcare providers face significant barriers in delivering effective patient education due to time constraints, varying literacy levels, primary language and the diversity of patient needs, which hampers patients' understanding of their conditions and treatment plans.

Challenge: Patient feedback

Healthcare organizations often fail to implement mechanisms for collecting and utilizing patient feedback in an effective and timely way, resulting in missed opportunities for improving care quality and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Challenge: Patient flow and bed management

Healthcare systems are grappling with significant challenges in patient flow and bed usage, characterized by overcapacity in emergency rooms, access block due to insufficient inpatient beds, staffing shortages, and an aging population with chronic conditions, all of which hinder timely access to care and compromise patient outcomes.
